The gorge is also scenic, and worth seeing although the toilets, lifts etc have a run down feel. Special thanks also to our driver Luca! Both Salvo and Luca were friendly and made the day fun. And if this was not enough, he went out of his way to show us a sample lava tunnel *after* the trek was over and we were back in the base station: He jumped in his personal car and had all the group members follow him in their cars to drive down the mountain to…”
